2011 FWBA Bridge Elected

The 2011 FWBA Bridge has been elected. Voting was held last November and there are familiar faces and new.

Commodore Walter Staples has been reelected and will continue his many years of faithful service to the club as will Fleet Captain George Yarborough and Treasurer Captain Kyle Hutchinson. Their continued service will assure direction and stability for the 2011 season and beyond.

The long vacant position of Secretary was filled by Karen Davis who has already brought an energetic, can do attitude to the position. Karen’s already volunteered to assume several important duties and has wasted no time in becoming involved with the inner workings of the club. She has many great ideas for club activities in the 2011 boating season and beyond. We welcome her and look forward to having her for many, many years to come.

Former Rear Commodore Victoria Fore has been elevated to the position of Vice Commodore. Viki brings to the position a wealth of experience and faithful service. She has long been a focal point of club activities organizing meetings, club trips and other events. We look forward to her continued dedication, leadership and faithful service in her new position as Vice Commodore.

Elected to the position of Rear Commodore is Captain Nathan Bagby. “Capt’n Nate” has been a member of the FWBA for six years and is a prominent member of the “impromptu scene” within the club and at the marina. Many a dockside cookout or raft up has started on the grill of Nate’s Juke Joint and Nate has become increasingly more involved in the clubs inner workings assuming the position of Communications Officer in 2009. He was also the recipient of the 2010 Commodore’s Award.

Finally, the club would like to thank Captain William “Matt” Woods for his many years of faithful and dedicated service as Vice Commodore. Matt decided to step down after the 2010 yachting season but he will remain an active member of the club. Thank you Matt from all of the FWBA members. See you in 2011!
